The guys at L&M are just awesome!!! They have the highest level of honesty & integrity. I took my 2008 528xi BMW to L&M after BMW Bayside tried to rip me off. BMW Bayside wrecked my car & gave me a list of things/parts that needed to be 'fixed' or changed (bushings, sway bar links, control arm = $1800.00).....Thing is I took the car in to BMW noiseless; to change the rotars & get a multi-point inspection, but got it back with what sounded like a wrench was left somewhere under it. When I took it back & pointed this out to BMW I was told that the 'issues' are getting worse and I needed to do the suggested 'work' ASAP. I am a female and I don't know much about cars, but good thing common sense prevailed. What I knew was that my car wasn't making those knocking noises at the front end before I took it to BMW. After seeing the great reviews online I decided to go to L&M. To start Bill test drove the car with me when I dropped it off (Micheal test drove when I picked it up) something BMW never do. I recieved a call within a few hours and was told that parts in the front end simply needed tightening =$95. So of course I asked about the list of things that BMW recommended and was told no other issues were found. Could you imagine? Now my car drives like it should. No more clanking noises. I highly recommend L&M to anyone cause they are friendly, honest and most important compotent mechanics. You will be sure that you're in good hands.~Micheline

After putting up with the incompetence on several levels of the local BMW dealer in Brooklyn and after two experiences with them ripping me off for jobs that were either done poorly or their attempts to get me to pay for 'fixes' for things they broke and them telling me they no longer want my business when I called them out for their faulty repairs, it was a pleasure to 'find' "L&M" , Billy (Proprietor), his son Michael and the 'Techs' they employ. They truly 'Fix What Others Can't' and demonstrated this credo several times. While L&M's prices may seem high, I have gotten used to the high cost of maintaining a BMW. In paying for repairs and vehicle maintenance at L&M I can at least be sure the repair was done right the first time and if the repair was not completely satisfactory and the problem persists I know Billy, Michael and the crew will stand behind their work. It is a pleasure dealing with this facility and recommend L&M highly and with no reservations!

I had an issue with my ignition so I came to these guys who went over my options with me for how to fix the problem. They did what they needed to do to make that happen and in a timely fashion. The bill was just over $400 but they explained what they did and how long it took, etc. so I felt ultimately satisfied with my experience there. I would go back if and when my car needs any more work.

These guys are the best. Very competent, excellent mechanics, reasonable prices and nice guys. I sevice my BMW and Boxster S here and never had a problem. Trust them 100%.

Mark, Billy and Micheal were fantastic. My 1992 BMW was in pretty bad shape and now is running very well. They were very clear in describing the mechanical issues with the car, helped me save money were the could without sacrificing safety. Had to bring the car back because of an unrelated issue and they waived the diagnostics for me. I wont take my car anywhere else.

I had some collision and mechanical (coolant leak) work done on my Range Rover SC. The staff were very friendly and gave me detailed information while I was there and also updated me via phone. Parts were reasonable after researching other places, and labor was slightly on the high end, but worth every penny in quality. Probably what was most impressive was when the work was complete my AC wasn't operating correctly and they charged my freon free of charge, eventhough the work they did originally had nothing to do with my AC. At the end of the day, they have my highest recommendation for anyone looking for quality and honest work. I will definitely continue to do business with them in the future.

Finding the right VW auto mechanic is one of the most frustrating, costly, and time-consuming tasks. Caught for years between the excessive costs of dealerships and the shoddy work of my local mechanic, I feel very lucky to have found L & M Foreign Cars. My first visit began with a ride around the block with Bill, the owner of the shop. As he drove, I was instructed to listen for anything unusual, which might include rattles, hums, clicks or grinding coming from my car. I was relieved to find that there were no such sounds, but I still needed a significant amount of maintenance work after years of bringing my car to a lousy mechanic. Bill and his son Michael were exceptionally courteous and patient, taking extra time not only to tell me what my car needed, but also to explain to me in detail why the repair was necessary, visually show me what the problems were, and explain how to avoid them in the future. They also worked with me to create a prioritized list of repairs, so that I could manage them within my budget. In a culture so devoid of quality customer service, this family-run business excels in personalized care and exceptional quality work. My car is running like a charm! But should I need maintenance or repair work in the future, I would absolutely return to L & M!

I have an Audi A4 with a 155K miles. I took it in thinking that I would replace the timing belt and fix a coolant leak, and be able to keep the car running for at least another 20K. I told Michael as much when I brought the car in for the work. He could have easily taken the job as is, but after a full diagnostic on the car, he identified several other needs, which pushed the cost of repairs much higher than the actual book value on the car. I'm sure he could have sold me on during all or some of the work, but instead the recommendation was to sell it. I feel like I got straight advice. The guys there are all friendly and knowledgeable. The price quote I received was very competitive. I'll be back the next time I need some work done.

If you looking for a cheap and quick shop...go somewhere else. If you looking for a skilled, fair and respectful shop then you have come to the right place! I have been dealing with shops for over 30 years in Brooklyn and hands down this is the BEST shop i have ever been to. I won a 2010 LR4 and i am very concerned of who touch this vehicle and i have been there 3 times now without incident. For Foreign work there is no better. Mike is a very fair man and the man he is working under is a legend. Feel comfortable.
