If you've read the other good reviews, then mine will add support to your decision to do business with Bill and Mike. They're in a business that depends on good word of mouth advertising, and customers coming back because they were treated fairly and honestly. They know the cars they service very well, and respect the customers by talking with them intelligently. Their reasoning and explanation of the work required is logical, and they take the time to go over that work with you (more than once if you like). My car is a 2003 Porsche Boxster that I bought in Connecticut in April of 2015. Of course, it did not come with a warranty, but after having it serviced by L&M, I am much more confident that the car will be maintained and repaired correctly because of Bill, Mike and their entire crew.

A year and a half ago we purchased what was a dream family automobile- a '90 VW Vanagon Westfalia. We ourselves found what we thought was a gem- a 135k miles with a supposedly rebuilt engine at 100k and one that looked pristine. Sight more or less unseen, we shipped it to NY from California. Well, mechanically she was far from a gem- a cracked cylinder wall caused oil to burn rapidly and coolant pipe corrosion led to overheating. Then through a friend of friend we found Billy and his son Michael. The time, effort and honesty to do to the jobs the RIGHT WAY every single time was so evident. When Billy tells me what needs to be done and what is required- I know it is coming from a master mechanic with decades and generations of experience at all stages of automotive engineering. With a properly L&M re-built engine our van runs as if it's a year off the lot and with a tenth of the miles. From the very gentle rumble of the engine as it was designed, to the softer ride resulting from an ever so negative camber wheel position- the results are evident every time I'm behind the wheel. Honest, great work, done right at fair prices- what more do you want?

Very good service and always has the customers best interest.. I have a 2008 750Li and there isn't a problem they can't fix...

Excellent service, they keep me abreast of problems along the way - sending photos to show damage. Problems are explained well and I feel like they are concerned about my wallet. I would highly recommend them.

Excellent customer service, knowledgable, rigorous and accommodating. I would highly recommend and utilize them for my foreign car(s) maintenance.

I really want to thank Bill and Michael for taking such good care of my Mini. The level of professionalism at this shop is beyond whats offered anywhere else in brooklyn. Not only did this Bill and Michael solve my problem with my car, they informed me every step of the way and I had complete confidence that I would be taken care of. This is what you would want in a mechanic and I couldn't be more blessed to have found this shop. Thank you so much for everything you do. I will speak very highly about this shop to anyone with a mini or a foreign car for that matter, These guys know their stuff!

If you have always gotten your precious MINI or BMW serviced in Manhattan and are worried about whether a family owned business in Brooklyn could possibly do as good of a job - forget it. These guys are better. They are more honest. And they are much more affordable. And its great being able to talk to the actually mechanic that fixes your car instead of some idiot "sales advisor" that has no clue about how cars run. It is also enlightening to find out all the things that your dealer was supposed to be doing when you were pressured into buying that extended warranty. Filters, fluids, brakes, oil, wipers, etc....did they really change them? probably not. Glad I made the trip to brooklyn.

Fantastic customer service, high quality work (and an amazing dog). I have been taking my Mini Cooper to them for years and they have always been a pleasure to work with and I can truthfully write that I actually enjoy taking my car to the mechanic. Anytime I’ve had any issue with my car (either mechanical or for body work) they take the time to explain all repairs and are patient and responsive to my many questions. I’ve brought my car to other mechanics for minor issues including flat tires, oil changes, or annual inspections and have had the cliché bad experience of dishonest repair shops. Recently I brought my Mini to another garage for what I assumed would be a minor repair to my air conditioning system. I was informed by the mechanic that my car needed a new radiator and coolant system, which would have potentially cost thousands of dollars. I immediately collected my car and drove it to L&M, they correctly diagnosed the issue and fixed the outside temperature gauge and a/c . They saved me a lot of money and got my car fixed in a day. Everyone at L&M is pleasure to work with and my 2002 car is in great shape thanks to their expertise. I highly recommend L&M for any car repairs, 6 stars if that was an option!

It's hard to describe how good these folks are at what they do. I'm 62 years old and I've owned quite a few foreign cars and dealt with quite a few mechanics over the years, some of whom have been very good. But L & M is something else. There is a level of pride and professionalism and knowledge and integrity in the way they go about their work that exceeds any expectations that any sane person should have. To be a little more specific: They start by sitting down with you and hearing exactly what you have to say. Then they test drive your car, run the computer codes, and determine what's wrong with it. Then they engage you in an intelligent conversation about the nature of the problem and how they propose to fix it. If there are options, they tell you the options. If there are multiple problems, they rank the multiple problems in the order in which they feel they should be addressed. And at every step of the way, they tell you what the work will cost. Then, if you give them permission to fix your car, they do exactly what they said they were going to do. They expect to be well paid for their work -- they're professionals, after all, and they know how good they are -- but if there is any way they can save you money without compromising the job, they will let you know. The only downside that I can think of is that you come away from the experience of doing business with them wondering why all commercial transactions can't be like this.
