Great service, expert mechanics I have a car that is difficult to repair and hard to find parts, a 1992 Jaguar XJS Convertible 12-cylinder, but Billy has an uncanny ability to diagnose the problem and fix it right the first time! He takes time and care to make sure the job is done right. And he doesn't keep the car so long that you feel that you are waiting forever like some other shops I have used. The other good thing about Billy is that he will tell you when you don't need something done, so you will never spend money needlessly at L&M. That makes me feel confident that I am getting what I need at a reasonable price. That kind of trust factor is rare these days. Honest, trustworthy, and friendly sercice -at a garage! I spoke with Bill on the phone first about the leak I was having and he asked me lots of questions to help identify what was going on and warned me that, given what I was describing, I would be looking at a costly repair, but he also reassured me that we wouldn't know anything for sure till he looked at the car for himself. After reading these reviews, I decided to head out in search of 1331 Utica Ave. (I'm fine on subways in brooklyn, but by car...help!). I'm glad I went in. Bill lifted car up while I was there, had me look at the leak myself and explained that the leak didn't exactly match up with what he thought was the problem. Turns out it was the auxiliary rather than the main pump that had failed and it was still going to be an involved job. Bill talked me out of doing some other other work we discussed since it would involve many more hours of work, and wasn't really necessary at that time. Not only did I get a full explanation of what went wrong and my old parts, but I got color photos showing me several steps of the repair job with half my engine pulled out and laying on the ground - a picture really goes a long way to illustrate why a job can be so inolved. I'll be going back the next time my A6 needs any work because I have dealt with 3 other mechanics in the 2 years I've owned the car and Bill is the ONLY one who talks to you like he actually cares about your car -and your wallet!
